This old Parker wall unit was a treasure we found at a second hand store. It had such good bones and we could see the potential. The frame was solid but the drawer and cupboard fronts were a timber laminate. We decided to keep the timber edges to frame the chosen colour Noosa.
Who doesn’t have that piece of furniture at home that is dark and dated. Furniture pieces with carving or relief on them are the quickest and easiest pieces to transform as they already have beautiful detail and all that is needed is to highlight them. A bit like putting rouge on cheekbones. One coat of paint is all that is required followed by a light sand and a protective coat of carnauba wax. You could dark wax the piece after sanding to change the appearance of the colour to a more antique shade if you like.
